Free2move’s Flash Utility takes firmware distribution to the next level by opening up the users’ access to our online firmware repository, allowing for simple upgrades and downloads of compatible firmwares. By protecting and preserving the module’s unique production parameters, Free2move’s Flash Utility provides a secure and safe mechanism to flash modules with the firmware/update of your choice.
This enables high flexibility in the early stages of development since developers literally can try all firmwares and varieties to find the best possible solution for their applications.
A vital tool for customer projects
For our customer specific projects, Free2move’s Flash Utility has become an important tool where incoming feature requests or functionally changes can be implemented and used as preliminary test releases within days, without the tedious, time consuming and costly process of sending products back and forth, world wide. Instead, developers can access updates at the same second as we use them, enabling a smooth development process without loosing momentum and vital development time.
Free2move’s Flash Utility requires access to the SPI interface of Free2move’s Bluetooth® products/module, which is why we strongly recommend all of our customers making in-designs, to be able to access that interface in their end product.
The SPI driver itself utilizes the LPT port as a transport, preferably connected to any of Free2move’s evaluation kits where you either have a module mounted on an OEM board, or have made a custom cable from the evaluation kit’s SPI pins to your end product.
